I am Chunliang. I am a PhD student at Monash University since 2018 year. I obtained my double Master degrees in Transportation Engineering from Southeast University and Monash University. My research interests include intelligent transport systems, data-driven modeling, big data analytic, network and spatial analysis, and urban planning.
PhD Project: Reinforcement Learning Based Traffic Signal Control
Recently, learning-based methods have shown great potential to optimize traffic signal control policies without a model. However, it is still an open question about designing a learning-based traffic signal control system for multiple intersections with fast learning speed, strong robustness, and the capability to extend to large-scale networks considering practical constraints. My research project will address this research question from the traffic operation and practitioners’ perspective. This research would provide insight for transport engineers to develop scalable and robust multi-agent reinforcement learning methods for networked control systems.
