My name is Leizhen Wang. I am a PhD student at Monash University since 2022. Before, I was a senior AI engineer at Bosch between 2021-2022. I obtained my Master degrees from Monash University and Southeast University in June 2021. I obtained my bachelor degree from Shandong Jiaotong University. My research interests include reinforcement learning, human-in-the-loop optimization and machine learning.

PhD Project: Offline Reinforcement Learning for Traffic Signal Control

Recently, learning-based methods have shown great potential to optimize traffic signal control policies without a model. However, it is still an open question about designing a learning-based traffic signal control system for multiple intersections with fast learning speed, strong robustness, and the capability to extend to large-scale networks considering practical constraints and large-scale empirical data. My research project will address this research question from the traffic operation and practitioners’ perspective. This research would provide insight for transport engineers to develop scalable and robust multi-agent offline reinforcement learning methods for networked control systems.
